The Chapel of Christ the King

Building Sacred Space

At Ngee Koon, we understand that creating a sacred space requires more than construction—it demands craftsmanship, precision, and a deep respect for the vision behind every detail. Collaborating closely with the design consultants, we were honoured to bring the Chapel of Christ the King to life, a sanctuary where faith and architecture meet in perfect harmony.

The Chapel of Christ the King stands as a testament to how architecture can serve something greater. Built in faith and guided by spiritual clarity, its every detail—from material palette to spatial rhythm—was selected to support the spiritual life of its community.

Masterful Carpentry: Crafting the Soul of the Chapel

Our carpentry skills were central to shaping the chapel’s warm, inviting atmosphere. From the finely crafted movable pews to the built-in storage cabinets, every timber element was meticulously designed and hand-finished by our skilled carpenters. These pieces are not just functional—they embody flexibility and grace, allowing the worship space to transform effortlessly for various gatherings while maintaining an aura of sacred calm.

The pews, carefully constructed to be both sturdy and lightweight, reflect our commitment to precision joinery and thoughtful design. Their smooth finishes and subtle detailing invite worshippers to pause and reflect, while their mobility ensures the chapel remains adaptable to the evolving needs of the community.

Through our carpentry, we have helped build more than a chapel—we have helped build a sanctuary where faith is both seen and felt in every detail.

Timber as a Medium of Meaning

Wood, with its natural warmth and texture, was chosen deliberately to enhance the chapel’s contemplative atmosphere. Our carpentry team worked closely with the design vision to select and shape timber elements that complement the chapel’s light-filled interiors, creating a tactile connection between the sacred and the material world. The three steps leading to the stage—crafted with exacting detail—serve as a quiet architectural nod to the Holy Trinity, demonstrating how our craftsmanship supports both spiritual symbolism and practical function.

Movable pews allow the worship hall to transform for different gatherings and ministries, while a concealed cabinet keeps the space uncluttered and purposeful.

Integrating Form and Function

Beyond aesthetics, our carpentry solutions ensure the chapel’s spatial clarity and order. The built-in storage cabinets, seamlessly integrated into the sanctuary’s design, keep the space uncluttered and purposeful, preserving the atmosphere of reverence. This attention to detail reflects our belief that skilled carpentry is essential to creating spaces that are both beautiful and enduring.

A Testament to Craft and Calling

The Chapel of Christ the King stands as a testament to how expert carpentry can elevate architecture into a sacred experience. At Ngee Koon Pte Ltd, we take pride in our ability to translate spiritual intent into finely crafted timber elements that support worship, reflection, and community. Every joint, every finish, and every carefully shaped surface reflects our dedication to craftsmanship and our respect for the sacred purpose of this space.

Through our carpentry, we have helped build more than a chapel—we have helped build a sanctuary where faith is both seen and felt in every detail.

Designed to inspire devotion and built with unwavering precision, the Chapel of Christ the King is a thoughtful expression of how architecture can embody stillness, light, and sacred intent.
