We are honoured to have participated in the National Youth Achievement Council (NYAA) 23rd Gold Award Presentation Ceremony, an event graced by Guest-of-Honour President Tharman Shanmugaratnam on 6 October 2025. Ngee Koon Studio (Ngee Koon)’s Founder and Managing Director Oliver Goh and Director Renee Lim had the distinct privilege of meeting President Tharman as well as Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for Education, Minister-in-Charge of Social Services Integration, and Chairman of the NYAA Advisory Board.

At Ngee Koon, nurturing future talent and empowering individuals to excel remain at the heart of our mission. This commitment extends beyond our organisation into the thoughtfully designed and meticulously built spaces we create, which inspire growth, creativity, and achievement.

This meaningful occasion was a powerful reminder that the future is shaped today through dedication, opportunity, and the belief in every young person’s potential.

Since its launch in 1992, the NYAA has been a leading self-development programme for youth aged 13 to 30. The prestigious Gold Award recognises those aged 16 and above who have completed at least 144 hours of service learning, outdoor appreciation, healthy living, and a community leadership initiative over 18 months. The programme also offers Silver and Bronze awards.

During the presentation, Minister Desmond Lee encouraged the Gold Award recipients to “lead by example and help shape our society for the better.” He echoed Prime Minister Lawrence Wong’s National Day Rally message, emphasising the importance of building a cohesive society where individuals thrive together, rather than pursuing goals at the expense of others.

The event also marked the 30th anniversary of the NYAA Gold Award Holders’ Alumni. A digital book celebrating the contributions of 60 distinguished alumni, including Oliver, Senior Lieutenant-Colonel Lim En and Minister of State Goh Pei Ming, was launched to commemorate this milestone. A limited number of physical copies is also available. The e-book can be accessed here: https://online.flipbuilder.com/oryu/fjwq/
