What’s the story behind the name “Ngee Koon Studio”?

Ngee Koon is deeply personal—it’s rooted in my family heritage. The name was actually coined by my mother, honouring my late grandfather’s legacy with Ngee Cheong Contractors and Ngee Kwong Investments, while also incorporating my Chinese middle name, Koon.

You’re a founding partner of both LFA Studio and Ngee Koon Studio. How do the two differ?

LFA Studio is a design-focused firm I co-founded with Jeffrey and Renee from Lemonfridge Studio, serving as the commercial interior arm to complement their residential expertise.

Ngee Koon Studio, on the other hand, is a build specialist dedicated purely to interior finishing works.

What’s your vision for Ngee Koon Studio?

I aim to lead Ngee Koon Studio’s evolution and regional growth, with ambitions to expand into construction, property development, and investments.

What milestones has Ngee Koon Studio achieved so far?

We’re proud to have delivered built works for renowned clients like IOI Properties, SP Group, and LVMH Fashion Group.

Describe Ngee Koon Studio in three words.
